THE INFANT STAGE
WE ARE A NEW CREATION
“Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the

dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.”  Romans 6:4 - “to walk”

means that we are going somewhere.  We are not stopped, we are always going.

PAY ATTENTION TO THIS:  THE KEY TO AN ABUNDANT CHRISTIAN LIFE IS GROWTH!  "Following Jesus" is the incredible journey of people discovering who Jesus was through the Bible and who Jesus is as He transforms our lives through the Holy Spirit.  God's Objective is for us to be transformed into the image of Christ.  

It is simply three things THE INFANT IN CHRIST should learn.....
1.  Learn from Others
2.  Learn New Truths
3.  Learn New Habits


SPIRITUAL GROWTH REQUIRES A FOCUSED EFFORT
1.  Jesus said that it requires WORK (John 6:26-27)
2.  Paul wrote in his letters that we are to WORK and to PRESS ON (Philippians 2 and 3)
3.  Peter writes in his letters that it requires diligence:  paying proper attention to the task given to you (2 Peter 1:5-10)

HOW DO I LEARN FROM OTHERS? NEW TRUTHS? NEW HABITS?
First, be an part of a Bible Study Class.  Be a learner.  The Church has many great teachers.  Sit with them and learn, learn, learn.

Second, submit yourself to the teaching of God's Word.  Change your life where it needs to be changed.  Truths will be opened up to you as you study and pray.

Third, develop good personal and daily spiritual habits:  prayer, reading the Bible, fasting, giving, serving, etc.  Instead of a life that was consumed by you, you have a life with Christ and following Him takes constant attention and time.  Learning to balance this is key to your obedience to Christ and God's Word.

Fourth, be accountable to your teacher, pastor, minster, or another believer you may know.  Submit yourself to each other for accountability.
